Alan Cibuzar Memorial Scholarship

Alan Cibuzar, a 1967 BHS graduate, was passionate about the Brainerd community and protecting water quality in Minnesota and throughout the world. He was a true innovator throughout his life and placed a high value on education. As the founder and CEO of A.W. Research Laboratories, Inc. he found a way to combine his two passions, water quality and aviation, into a successful business and worked tirelessly to protect the water quality of the lakes he loved. Through this work, he received international recognition for his innovations in remote sensing technology to detect pollution sources in lakes and rivers. Alan was living proof that anything is possible with enough knowledge, passion, and hard work.

Alan was a man who believed in everyone, believed everybody had a talent in their own special way, was a hero who inspired many to follow their dreams, a mentor to many, and always on a quest to make this world a better place. We are proud to honor his legacy and the Cibuzar family through this scholarship.
