David & Connie Maras Family Scholarship

Dave established this scholarship for a few reasons, most importantly, to honor his late wife, Connie—his beloved wife and life partner since 1962, the heart of their family, and the love of his life. They especially enjoyed dancing together, a reflection of the joy and connection they shared. Even in the face of health challenges later in life, Connie remained determined to live fully, approaching each day with strength, grace, and an unwavering spirit. Through this gift, Dave also sought to give back to the system that shaped him with consistent public support, while recognizing the resilience he so admired in strong female athletes—especially those who overcome injuries and adversity with determination and a positive attitude.
